Michael P. Murphy

 CLINICIAN | STUDIO MUSICIAN

 

Michael Murphy has been performing and teaching for more than 25 years working with experienced musicians, beginners to advanced high school students, college students and retired professionals wanting to get their "chops" back.

 

He works out of his home studio in Monroe, North Carolina and online via Skype or FaceTime.  Students looking for in-home lessons can have Michael travel to their homes for an additional fee.

Michael has had the pleasure of performing with
The Temptations, Scotty Barnhart, Tim Reis, Chase Sandborn, John Fedchock,   Bob Mintzer, Wayne Bergeron, and Chris Vadala,to name a few.

He has also performed at/with Waymaker Church, Roswell, NM/Christmas Spectacular (Lead Trumpet and Contractor); Mesilla Valley Jazz Orchestra (Guest Lead Player); Maynard Ferguson Tribute (Guest Soloist with the NMSU Jazz Ensemble);

San Juan Symphony—2002-2007 2nd & Assistant Principal and as a finalist for the

Premier USAF Falconaires (Lead Trumpet Position).

Michael has been a guest soloist with the Moorsville High School Winds (Rocky's Gonna Fly Now), and Charlotte Concert Band (Napoli).  Michael has also worked with several musicals in the Charlotte Metro area including:

(Current) Matilda the Musical,The Addams Family, Heathers, and La Cage Aux Folles.

 

He currently performs regularly with Queen City Band, Right to Party Band and Southside Station,

Former trumpet player of The Tonez.
